As
I look at my little grand daughter sketching away so intently,
Time
stares me in the face.
I
realise with a jolt that one day long, long ago,
I
was as little as her!
There
were brilliant stars in my eyes,
I
only waited for an appreciative look from my parents,
Looked
apprehensively at my brothers who looked menacingly at my creation,
Not
that they did anything to spoil my work,
Yet
I was scared, what if...
Those moments of complaining, of fighting,
Of bickering and sharing,
Those
days which ended as soon as they began,
The
wish for a morrow, the fear of past shadows,
Never ever heard of that!
One
never regretted anything,
One
never worried about doing anything wrong.
Life
was lived without prejudice and preconceived notions,
Day
turned into night and one just woke up next day,
Like
a fresh daisy,raring to go,
There was no hangover, no sorrow, no fear,
The
only fear was if one had not done one's home work.
What
blissful days, what happy times,
Childhood...you
were the best time of my life!
Every time I look at a little girl walking fast trying to keep pace with her dad,
I
remember those days of fun, books, and my favourite Golliwog,
My
Monaco biscuits and 2 toffees,
My
Cadbury's chocolate from Prince Store at Abid Road in Hyderabad!
What
fond memories of days gone by!
Sometimes
when I look at my grand daughter, I see the same me
In
her eyes!!

Yes..time flies away like sand through one's fingers. Memories of days gone by are there which we keep refreshing by looking at our grand-kids. Cute revival of your childhood days.
