Nineteen seventies |
It's the seventies once again
The most glorious time of our life.
One had stepped out of childhood,
Studies were over, a job was found, a girl was found,
Love was in the air and youth was all around.
There were no sunsets, just lovely moonlit evenings,
There were no day breaks, just another brisk morning,
One rushed in and out, one never thought of Insurance and bills,
One never worried over spilt milk,
A day went and another simply came by.
Seventies were the times when dreams were being formed,
Everything was
"Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight,
Wish I may, wish I might,
Grant the wish I wish tonight!"
Lovely days, Glorious days, Brilliant days, Beautiful ways.
No aches, no pains, no BP, no weight gain,
Those were the seventies with bouffant, churidars and sack shirts,
Those latkas and jhatkas and ringlets at the end of our long plait,
With long big dangling earrings, and twenty rupee sarees.
Drain pipes and pointed shoes,
Dev Anand hairstyles with huge puffs,
Bell bottoms and jeans and huge black shades,
A cigarette dangling with style.
Life was so much fun with adventure and romance and fashion.
Oh did I start by saying it's the seventies again????
Indeed it is the seventies again,
When life again takes a high,
We are going up, up and up, in the fun cycle of life,
It's fun time, glorious time all over again.
Back to Drain pipes, The seventies hair style,
The anticipation of a future untold,
The adventures of looking at glorious sunsets and waiting for the beautiful day break when it will be another glorious beautiful day,

Neeraj B Bhai, " A nice way to look at life.
Those were the seventies
There will again be the seventies
You lived through those seventies
These seventies will arrive to live through you
I am sure you will retain those seventies through these when they arrive and go past"
Kadayam Vaikuntam, " The difference between the seventies and now is that everything was either your personal experience or conversation with some one or text (book or newspaper). So a lot was left to the imagination. You had your own image of the snow or of foreign countries. Now TV, internet and travel has stripped us of imagination with too many images right in front of you."
Mohamad Abdulla, "Brings back nostalgia to those of us born in the 50s.-Those were the days ........"

Surender Gagroo said, "That's called positivity personified ! If I remember correctly, you found sweet 16 special, then when u turned 20 u felt special as u had left behind your rebellious teens, at 30 you felt special because u considered yourself worldly wise but still young, at 40 everyone acknowledged your claim to be wise right & proper, of course 50 was special becauz u crossed over to the wrong side, 60 was special too because u became senior ! Yes, 70 is special because of the reasons u give."
Ramesh S Iye, "r Nice song. Wonderful. God Bless"
